Overview

Hiking to Jhamachok hike is a one-day moderate level in the northern hills of Kathmandu Valley, known for rich nature, holy pilgrimage site, and panoramic views. The trail begins at Nagarjun hill entrance gate, climbs up and up through jungle than reaches the popular hilltop knownm sacred site both for Buddhists and Hindu pilgrims. The jungle is  lush green and rich in biodiversity.

The hill top is knowns as Jhamachok, a peaceful village with cultural and spiritual significance, offering scenic views of the Kathmandu Valley and surrounding hills. Along the route, trekkers enjoy pristine natural landscapes, wildlife, and panoramic Himalayan backdrops. This hiking is ideal for those looking for a full-day nature and culture experience close to Kathmandu.

Route

The trek starts from Nagarjun (2100m), a hilltop area surrounded by lush forests and scenic landscapes. From here, the trail gradually descends through rural hill villages and terraced farmland, giving hikers a close view of local village life and traditional agriculture. Along the way, trekkers pass through community forests and pristine natural areas, enjoying the peaceful surroundings and panoramic views of the Kathmandu Valley.

The hike continues until reaching Jhamachok, a quiet village known for its cultural and spiritual significance, local temples, and charming rural environment. From Jhamachok, hikers return to Kathmandu via road transport, completing a full-day nature and cultural trek
